Based in London, with a global reach, the fund builds on our philosophy of collaboration and partnership with small and start-up companies.
What we do
We launched our $100 million fund in July 2014 to get closer to the wave of disruptive innovation in the FinTech space. We aim to support the digital revolution to make sure Santander customers around the world benefit from the latest know-how and innovations across the Banking Group’s geographies.
The fund is part of the Santander Group’s broader innovation agenda, in which we help FinTech companies grow from a very early stage (i.e. seed) to a more mature stage.
Our investment philosophy
We are not a passive investor. We aspire to bring all the value Santander has to offer to every start-up we partner with. Our investments will have a sound financial case, but also a clear vision on how we can help your start-up grow and scale.
Our value proposition
We bring the strength and reach of the eurozone’s largest bank by market capitalisation to your company.
When you become part of the Santander InnoVentures Fund portfolio we’ll create an action plan to help you leverage our global footprint in over 25 markets with over 107 million individual customers and 3 million corporate SMEs. Our fund is the ideal platform for you to gain the traction every FinTech start-up needs to validate their business model and become a sustainable company.
We provide true business expertise.
We live and breathe financial services. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years, and we’ve learned a thing or two about business along the way. Partnering with us means having access to world-class industry experts, and getting a senior sponsor to help you extract as much strategic value as possible from us. We’ll work closely with your start-up so we become your most supportive client.
We help you scale.
We’ve deployed multiple financial products and services many times across business and geographies, so we know how to do it well. Our technology team can give you the technical support to guarantee the integration and scalability you need to be a feasible component of a major banking platform. We can also help you identify key hires to complement your team and provide you with local service providers, recruiters, managers, and so on, in all our markets.
