Fintech Venture Days: 3 continents, 3 countries, 3 winners
We’re thrilled with the success of our first trio of Fintech Venture Days. In partnership with IE Business School and Accenture, our team has travelled to Tel Aviv, Madrid and Sao Paulo to meet some of the best and brightest fintech startups in each location.
We’ve brought together regional stakeholders, including local investors and experienced entrepreneurs in each geography, to explore the issues faced by fintech startups and to offer support in the form of advice, insight and best practices to help them develop and fine-tune their business strategies.
An integral part of each event was the Pitch Slam competition – with five startups from each region invited to compete to win access to the expertise and capabilities of our InnoVentures team, along with IE Business School and Accenture.
The latest winner of the Pitch Slam in Sao Paulo on 5 May is Mesfix – a crowdfactoring marketplace for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Mesfix provides an electronic trading platform that connects SMEs with investors, helping them improve their cashflow by selling pending receivables at a discount to community members.
Pich helps to organize, collect, and distribute data, allowing developers to securely access banking and financial data using modern, easy-to-use API tools. Paykey facilitates payments through social networks including WhatsApp, Twitter and Facebook Messenger.
All three winners will now benefit from the expertise of the three Fintech Venture Day founding partners. They will gain guidance from Santander InnoVentures as they seek to raise capital, mentorship from IE Business School and the advice and market insight of Accenture, helping them launch to market effectively and scale quickly.
Our judging panel has been impressed by what we’ve seen and heard from each of these three winning startups. Each is aiming to bring a very different but compelling proposition to market and we look forward to helping them realise their potential.
